MUJERES

Mujeres sprinkled the scene at the end of the 2000s with a few singles and a first self-titled album (Sones, 2009) in the key of catchy and uncontrolled garage, a trail in which they took the lead as avant-garde and for which they They will slide with the albums ‘Soft Gems’ (Sones, 2012) and ‘Marathon’ (Canada, 2015). In the middle would be the EP ‘Aquellos Ojos’ (Canada, 2014), a reference in which for the first time they embraced Spanish as a vehicular language with their particular refoundation of the yeyé-style fringe pop, until today, a trademark of the house.

The loving nostalgia that lives in the brotherhood formed by Yago, Pol and Arnau contrasts with the brilliant future that has always been in store for the people of Barcelona, especially after their signing for Sonido Muchacho, the house where they would publish the works that have catapulted them further: ‘Un Sentimiento Importante’ (LP, 2017), ‘Romance Romántico’ (EP, 2019), ‘Siento Muerte’ (LP, 2020) and the collaborative EP ‘Rock y Amistad’ (2021). Once again, and just when we needed them most, they are back at it with new singles that preview the new era in which they are at the door and in which, of course, everyone is invited this very 2023.
