Iván Ferreiro (Nigrán-Galicia), composer of indie rock and pop rock music, was for 13 years of his musical career the leader, singer and main composer of the renowned group Los Piratas with whom he released 12 albums and a great musical legacy that is still revered. After splitting up with Los Piratas at the end of 2003, Iván decided to continue in the music world with his brother, Amaro Ferreiro, presenting an eclectic show “Rai Doriva y As Ferreiro”.
In 2005 he published “Canciones para el tiempo y la distancia”, an album that would establish him as a solo singer and that would influence the entire Spanish pop-rock music scene at the time. In it, we find such popular songs as “Turnedo”, usually considered by different specialized publications, such as Rolling Stone, as the best-received song of its author.
At the end of 2005, Iván launched a project called Laboratorio Ñ, with which he locked himself away for two weeks in a house in Buenos Aires in order to create new songs with different artists: Juan Aguirre and Eva Amaral (the duo Amaral), Xoel López (singer of Deluxe), Pereza, Quique González, as well as other Argentine artists.
In 2006 he released his new album, “Las siete y media” brings together eight cuts that the artist composed with his brother, confirming that music grows with Iván.
In 2008, “Mentiroso mentiraso” was published. The artist announced on his blog the possibility of downloading his new album for free, even before its release, making him one of the first renowned artists in Spain to adopt this system.
His following albums: “Picnic Extraterrestre” (2010) or “Confesiones de un artista de mierda” (2011) began to project the creative and innovative Iván Ferreiro, who has hundreds of concerts behind him: Mexico, Argentina, London, Paris, Berlin, Dublin… endless tours throughout Spain. In “Val Miñor-Madrid” (2013), he tells us about the artist’s life path between those two places. Three years later, she released her latest work: “Casa” which came out in 2016 and has been number 1 on the sales charts since the first week of its release.
In 2018, she released a cover album entitled “Fariña Misturas”, and the same year she also released her new album “Cena Recalentada” a tribute to Golpes Bajos.
2021 launched a very special tour: Cuentos y canciones
“Cuentos y Canciones” is an intimate and messy journey through Iván Ferreiro’s musical career. Based on stories, versions and of course his songs, supported by an audiovisual installation and a special and unexpected repertoire, Iván went through his biography and explained how some songs were born in a format between the concert and the “storyteller”.

“I want to sing more and talk less,” says Ferreiro about Canciones 2022, a special and infallible show where, in addition to the most representative songs from his 7 solo albums, some hymns from his time in Piratas will be played.
Iván on this tour was accompanied by his usual band: Ricky Falkner (Love of lesbian, Egon Soda), Xabi Molero, Pablo Novoa (Golpes Bajos, La Banda de Leit Motiv), Emilio Saiz, Marta Toro and Amaro Ferreiro. And this is how he defined that experience: “I want to play with my friends and enjoy these songs, before releasing a new album in 2023. I want to have a good time and celebrate.”
In 2023 he released “Trinchera Pop” an album with which he has earned the respect of critics and the public, with songs like “EN EL ALAMBRE” VIDEOCLIP
